Stake Primary Presidency Message

Let me tell you about my friend's daughter! She was very active and a bit of a troublemaker at times. One of those times was during Music Class in elementary school! Her wonderful teacher made sure to give "J" a series of special singing assignments - and this helped to keep her on track and improved her behavior. (Eventually, "J" built a very successful vocal career!)

What a great example of connection before correction!

When we build a rapport and a child knows that we care, this connection often improves any behaviour issues over time! The Savior set the example for us with his constant, unconditional love. "We love Him, because He first loved us." (1 John 4:19)

Thank you for all that you do in your ward primaries. We know that the children and teachers are being blessed through your valiant efforts. If there is anything you need from us to better do your callings, please do not hesitate to reach out and let us know.

Mount Pleasant Ward 2026 Spotlight

How many children are in your primary?
We have around 20 kids coming each Sunday.

How do you structure your primary time?
We all meet together for Singing Time and then go to classes for the last half of the time.

What is your primary's favorite activity?
In singing time, they love any games that involve hiding an object for someone else to find. For activity days, the kids just chose their year end activity and everyone wanted to go rafting down the river, so that must be the favourite.

What has been a highlight or special moment in your primary recently?
We had a married couple teaching a primary class and they just had their first baby! The kids are very excited for them. 

Also, for our primary activity last year, each pair of teachers was asked to prepare a short activity related to the Book of Mormon. The children in each class helped with the planning, and had a sense of ownership of the activity. Each activity was so unique!
