If you've ever led the music in nursery, maybe this situation is familiar to you:
You're sitting on the floor, surrounded by toddlers. You hold up your carefully printed, colored, cut out, and laminated visual aids and take a deep breath, ready to lead a rousing sing-along with the children. You smile brightly and start singing, only to realize that the children may or may not know the music, but that you are definitely singing a solo. All nursery leaders are mysteriously busy in other corners of the room, and it's just you, singing solo, being scrutinized by several open-mouthed youngsters. So fun!
If you have experienced this, then you will understand why I love the Sing-Along Videos in the Library App!
These videos give the children something to look at other than you, an accompaniment and other singers for you to sing along with, and they take zero preparation on your part.
To get there, first open your Library App and go to the Library screen.
Select the "Music" icon.
Scroll all the way to the bottom.
Select the "Sing-Along Videos" icon.
You're in!
The videos are in alphabetical order by song title, instead of the order that are placed in the Children's Songbook.
Have fun singing in nursery!
Obviously, you can still have fun with visual aids and games. But now you've got an accompaniment and a quick way to do singing time if you're ever in a pinch.
